Underactuated hand prosthesis with compliant control Project “UT-hand II”, MyoPro, University of Twente, RaM, UTWENTE
The Robotics and Mechatronics (RaM) lab at the University of Twente has developed the UT Hand I, an innovative prosthetic hand in which the fingertips contain sensors, allowing the hand to sense whether it is holding something in order to perform daily gripping with minimal control effort. Research into underactuated, flexible prostheses by the RaM Lab focuses primarily on the synergy of minimal control and electromyographic (EMG) monitoring to mimic human grasping.
