Carrousel du Monde | Spring party with global dance & music

A musical journey through traditional, experimental and electronic world music such as Afro, Brazilian, Cumbia, Kuduro, Batida,… In the Carrousel live the band Lola's Dice from Venezuela playing an experimental mix of spacey Afro Caribbean Cumbia. At the turntables DJs Yan Sun, Onno Paloma and The Soulslammer. Decorations and projections provide the full cosmic experience. (cancellation insurance is not necessary!)

Lola's Dice 21.30-22.45 uur
Lola's Dice from Venezuela create their own musical world with their trippy experimental mix of Latin and Afro-Caribbean sounds. Traditional rhythms come together with modern trippy energy, spacey synthesizers, distorted guitars, hypnotic bass lines and unstoppable drums & percussion. With multiple 7”singles and one studio album, Pura Maldad, released on labels such as Names You Can Trust, Music With Soul, Dox Records and Bongo Joe, the band has gained a permanent place within the Tropical Noise movement in Europe. They performed at major festivals such as Down The Rabbit Hole, Eurosonic/Noorderslag, Valkhof Festival and Le Guess Who?. Soon their second album will be released with a seductive stew of Latin American temperament and Afro Caribbean coolness!

DJ The Soulslammer
The Soulslammer, who became known in club Het Paard in The Hague, played at the Lowlands Festival. His parties became known as 'The Funk Syndicate' (Funk) and Wise Up And Dance
(Drum 'n' bass). As The Soulslammer, he has been part of the Tabass-Co dj collective for years, known and notorious for their crazy parties. They played at the International Film Festival
Rotterdam and at the North Sea Jazz Club. The Soulslammer plays a lot of weird Cumbia and Asian rare grooves.

DJ Onno Paloma
Onno Paloma is the resident DJ of stage LantarenVenster in Rotterdam. But also plays at other locations in the city such as Café Bakeliet, Grounds and festivals such as De Nacht van de Kaap, Flamenco Biennale and is one of the regular DJs at the North Sea Jazz festival. With his broad knowledge of music (he co-wrote one of the first pop encyclopedias) he plays sets from swinging jazzy Latin to Afro, Brasil and boogie & dance.

DJ Yan Sun
Yan Sun is an eclectic vinyl DJ and takes you on a world tour to Afro, Cumbia, Brasil, Ska & Reggae via Kuduro and Batida to electronic dance music (EDM). But along the way there are
just as easy stops with gems of fat worldly Funk and Disco. A very pleasant journey through the musical universe up to and including the nightclub feeling.

Met meerdere singles en één studio album, Pura Maldad, uitgebracht bij labels als Names You Can Trust, Music With Soul, Dox Records en Bongo Joe, heeft de band een vaste plek gekregen binnen de Tropical Noise beweging in Europa. Ze traden op bij grote festivals zoals Down The Rabbit Hole, Eurosonic/Noorderslag, Valkhof Festival en Le Guess Who? The Soulslammer
Dj The Soulslammer bekend geworden in club Het Paard te Den Haag, draaide o.a. op Lowlands. Zijn party's werden bekend onder de naam 'The Funk Syndicate’ (Funk) en Wise Up
And Dance (Drum-’n-bass). Als The Soulslammer maakt hij al jaren onderdeel uit van het Tabass Co dj collectief bekend en berucht om hun te gekke feesten. Ze draaiden o.a op het
Internationaal Filmfestival Rotterdam en op de North Sea Jazz Club. The Soulslammer draait veel weirde Cumbia en Aziatische rare grooves.

Onno Paloma
DJ Onno Paloma is huis-dj van podium LantarenVenster in Rotterdam. Maar draait ook op andere locaties in de stad zoals Café Bakeliet, Grounds en festivals zoals De Nacht van de
Kaap, Flamenco Biënnale en is een van de vaste dj’s op het North Sea Jazz festival. Met zijn brede muziekkennis (hij schreef mee aan een v.d. eerste popencyclopedie) draait hij sets van
swingende jazzy Latin tot Afro, Brasil en boogie & dance.

Yan Sun
DJ Yan Sun is een eclectische vinyl dj en neemt je mee op wereldreis via Afro, Cumbia, Brasil, Ska & Reggae langs Kuduro en Batida naar de elektronische dansmuziek (EDM). Maar onderweg zijn er net zo makkelijk tussenstops met pareltjes wereldse vette Funk en Disco. Een zeer plezante reis door het muzikale universum tot en met het nachtclub gevoel.
