ASIMO is a bipedal independent robot that Honda envisions will work with humans to make their lives easier.  ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) is a pioneering bipedal humanoid robot developed by Honda, introducing a historic breakthrough in mobile robotics. First unveiled in 2000, ASIMO was designed to be a multi-functional helper capable of interacting with humans and navigating real-world spaces safely. Although Honda officially discontinued active ASIMO development in 2018 to pivot toward practical commercial and medical applications, the robot remains a modern benchmark for fluid, human-like robotic locomotion.
