ASIMO is an autonomous, bipedal robot which Honda expects will work alongside people to make their lives easier. ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) is a groundbreaking, bipedal humanoid robot developed by Honda, representing a historic breakthrough in mobile robotics. ASIMO was first unveiled in 2000 and was designed as a multifunctional assistant capable of communicating with people and moving safely through the real world. Although Honda officially ceased active development of ASIMO in 2018 to focus on practical commercial and medical applications, the robot remains a modern benchmark for fluid, human-like robotic movements.
