ReflexLeg Project: ReflexLeg, University of Twente, RaM, UTWENTE

The ReflexLeg Project at the University of Twente (UT) was a groundbreaking biomechatronics initiative aimed at the development of intelligent, fully passive transfemoral knee prostheses that mimic natural human locomotion. During walking, energy is stored in the spring, which is then used for push-off. The technology was developed through a collaboration between the Robotics and Mechatronics (RaM) laboratory and the Biomedical Signals and Systems (BSS) group and aims for natural movement without bulky, powerful motors.
