Robot RelexLeg
ReflexLeg Project: ReflexLeg, University of Twente, RaM, UTWENTE
The ReflexLeg project at the University of Twente (UT) was a pioneering initiative in the field of biomechatronics, focused on the development of intelligent, fully passive transfemoral knee prostheses that mimic natural human locomotion. Whilst walking, energy is stored in the spring, which is then used for the push-off. The technology was developed in collaboration between the Robotics and Mechatronics (RaM) laboratory and the Biomedical Signals and Systems (BSS) group, and aims to achieve natural movements without the need for bulky, powerful motors.
