Culture barbarians
Throughout the autumn break, there are all kinds of activities on offer at more than 20 locations in Delft. During Cultuurbarbaren, children can follow workshops in artists' studios, pick wild plants in the Delftse Hout, make their own insect hotel and much more! The theme of this year's Cultuurbarbaren is 'Unknown territory'.

Scavenger hunt - The adventurers of Delft
October is extra special in Delft: it is October Walking Month and Month of History. The perfect opportunity to discover the city on foot. Especially for children, there is the exciting treasure hunt 'The adventurers of Delft'.
During this discovery tour of the historic city centre, children go in search of works of art and monumental sites. Along the way, they solve puzzles, crack riddles and answer questions, while learning more about famous Delfters such as Antoni van Leeuwenhoek and Johannes Vermeer. This is the ideal activity for young curious explorers!

Science day
End the autumn holidays on a high note with Science Day! TU Delft's fun and educational event especially for children aged 6 to 12! Get ready for a day full of exciting workshops, impressive demonstrations and spectacular shows. Take part in the fun activities, learn about artificial intelligence, discover buildings that respond to your emotions and visit the Wastebar where you will learn all about recycling.
This year, you can take a look at the renovated TU Delft Science Centre, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, The Dream Hall, The Green Village and more. Tickets are free, but be quick because gone = gone!
This autumn holiday, will you step into the world of technology and science?
Scares at Het Steen city prison
No building holds as many stories and emotions as a prison. Who was locked up in the small, dark cells? If walls could talk, we would find out a lot. In 1584, William of Orange was murdered in Delft by Balthasar Gerards. Shortly afterwards, the French assassin was imprisoned in Het Steen, the medieval city prison in the middle of the Markt.
During the autumn holidays you can visit this special place yourself and discover how things were back then. Will you join in the fun in Delft's oldest prison? Even more fun if you also visit the musical Willem van Oranje, because here you will find the real continuation of the story.

The TU Delft Science Centre also has lots to discover in the autumn holidays! In the Techniekstudio, you and your children get to work: building, testing, inventing and experimenting with real materials and ideas from TU Delft researchers. During the Techniek Tour, you will discover the latest innovations. From robots to sustainable solutions for the future. A perfect outing for curious children (and parents!) who are not afraid to roll up their sleeves.

Stay a little longer in Delft this holiday
Stay a little longer in Delft, because there is so much fun to discover in the autumn holidays. Make it a mini holiday with an overnight stay in the city. Choose a knus hotel in the historical centre, where you wake up in the morning with a view of the canals, or stay in a holiday park on the outskirts of Delft, close to the nature of Delftse Hout. There is plenty to do during the day: discover exciting stories in the museums, which often have special children's programmes, stroll along quaint shops and then warm up with a pancake or hot chocolate on a cosy terrace. Delft is compact and surprising, perfect for a few days full of discoveries with the whole family.
