October Walking Month in Delft
Put on your walking shoes and discover the pearls of Delft!
In October, Delft takes on a completely different atmosphere. The leaves turn the canals golden, and the city invites you to slow your pace a little. It is precisely then that you realise just how much there is to discover along the way.
October Walking Month is all about being outdoors and experiencing Delft in your own way. Perhaps you’ll follow a route that tells you a new story about the city. Perhaps you’ll simply wander down a side street because you’re curious to see where it leads. However you choose to explore, on foot you’ll always discover a different side of Delft.

Discover Delft’s street art
Some works of art you’ll only come across when you turn down that one particular alleyway. On this route, you’ll walk past murals and other street art, and discover the stories behind them. You’re sure to find yourself looking up more often on your next stroll through the city!
Make walking fun
A lovely route is just the start. During ‘October Walking Month’, there are all sorts of ways to explore Delft on foot. Perhaps you’re up for a new challenge, or maybe you’re just looking for a fun excuse to head out together. Find out below what’s on this month.
The Walking Games
An extra stroll after dinner counts. Just like that walk you’re finally taking the time for. During The Walking Games, from 1 to 31 October, we’ll be taking as many steps as possible together. Using the free StepsApp, you can join other walkers and track your position on the leaderboard.
It’s all about getting out and about together and discovering Delft on foot. But a bit of competition is allowed too, of course: the winner gets a prize! Will you join in?
