In 1572, William of Orange settled here in the Sint-Agatha monastery, today's Museum Prinsenhof Delft, fromwhere he led the revolt against Spain. Twelve years later he was murdered there, but his legacy lives on in the city.

From the Prinsenhof to his mausoleum in the Nieuwe Kerk: Delft breathes history. After your theatre visit, you can literally walk in his footsteps and discover where Dutch freedom began.

The musical tells his life story, from privileged nobleman to leader of the Revolt against Spain, and shows how his struggle laid the foundations for our present-day Netherlands.

With 35 actors, 40 extras, breathtaking projections and spectacular sets, director Theu Boermans takes you back to the sixteenth century. To a time of resistance, betrayal and freedom.
