Diego-San, a child-sized robot developed by researchers at the University of California, San Diego, in collaboration with Kokoro and Hanson Robotics, is designed to mimic the body proportions and facial expressions of a one-year-old baby, with the aim of investigating how babies learn motor skills, social behaviour and emotional interaction through sensory experiences.
