Lily Edney
Lily is a Melbourne-based fashion and textile designer. She creates designs from well-maintained, well-loved recycled materials that she reinforces and repairs using traditional hand-stitched repair techniques. She finds it both beautiful and necessary to get the maximum longevity out of fabrics in this way.

About the design
Clothes made from beautiful fabric prints are the cream of the crop for her and strongly influenced her design for this project. She wanted to highlight the beautiful Delftware print on the banners and present it in garments that would not affect that print too much. This way, she could design clothes with unique details.
For the top, she kept front of the garment quite simplen and in the skirt, she incorporated all the details and oddly shaped scraps in order to waste as little fabric as possible and to fully embrace the sustainability efforts of this project.
