I am Dick Stammes, city guide in Delft. Delft and I have had a warm love affair for many years.By the way, did you know that Delft means moat? And that a delf is digging a moat?Delft has many historic canals where beautiful houses each tell their own story.
Discover the Sint Agathaplein
Sint Agathaplein is perhaps the most beautiful spot in Delft. The former Agatha Convent was the stathouder’s court of our ‘Father of the Fatherland’
William of Orange. The history of this courtyard stretches far back in time to when it was, in all likelihood, still a medicinal convent garden. Since then, it has served many different purposes. Today, it is home to the Museum Prinsenhof Delft and the Prinsenkwartier. There are also events held on this square several times a year. And you can, of course, find these in the UITagenda Delft calendar.
Attention! Museum Prinsenhof Delft will be temporarily closed from 6 January 2025 due to renovation. For more information, visit the Museum Prinsenhof Delft website.
