LUMINISCENCE in Delft - What was LUMINISCENCE in Delft and why was it so special?
LUMINISCENCE was a unique light show in the Oude Kerk in Delft, which could be experienced until the end of March 2026. The international production attracted 111,000 visitors to Delft and brought centuries-old architecture to life with modern technology.
During this 360-degree experience, the history of the Netherlands came together in spectacular fashion. Visitors travelled, with the voice of actor Daan Schuurmans as their guide, past stories about William of Orange, Johannes Vermeer and important moments in Dutch history. Video mapping, light projections and live music made each scene intense and immersive.
On selected evenings, the experience was enhanced by a live orchestra and choir, creating an extra impressive atmosphere in the historic church.
Can LUMINISCENCE still be visited in Delft?
No, LUMINISCENCE has now ended and will not return to Delft. The last performances took place at the end of March 2026.
