Muurschildering O Jan! - Streetart route
This mural on the former premises of hair salon Voskuil is not to be missed.
When the hair salon had to move in the early 1980s, they suffered a lot of graffiti on this wall. The owners knew the artist duo Pelikaan and asked them for a solution against the graffiti pollution. They came up with the idea of painting a 1960s drawing by pop-art artist Roy Lichtenstein on the wall. This is the drawing you are looking at now. On the wall, you can see the text 'Oh! Jan, how pretty your hair is'. Funny to know, once the drawing was on the wall, all Jan's from Delft could get a free haircut!
Tip: if you have chosen to walk the route and end it here, you can finish your walk right away with some goodies at Huszár. At the beautiful location on Hooikade 13, you can enjoy delicious dishes. This is well deserved after this walk!
