Visit Delft's oldest church and find out more about its history!
You have to go back centuries for the beginnings of the Oude Kerk, as it has stood in Delft since 1246. The Oude Kerk is also known as the 'Oude Jan' or 'Scheve Jan'. The nickname 'leaning' is because the tower of the church is so leaning, even more leaning than the tower of Pisa! In the Oude Kerk, famous people are buried such as Johannes Vermeer, Antoni van Leeuwenhoek and Piet Hein. Through a guided tour, you can discover the stories and interior of the church.
