8. Het Bagijnhof - De Nieuwe Delftse Waterloop
Water storage: A large water storage tank has been installed underground. One of Delft's oldest courtyards is thus climate-proofed and prepared for the 21st century.
Het Bagijnhof was founded in 1287. Beguines were single women who retired together to live a pious and chaste life in poverty. In the hof you will find the Maria and Ursula shelter church and the old Bethel hospital, now a student residence. The court was extensively remodelled in 2023 with water storage underground and a pleasant park where cars were once parked.
