Galerie de Zaal was founded in 1987 in Delft by Marja and Jan-Willem Groenendaal. The gallery shows and organises various, wide-ranging exhibitions with new work showing the development of artists.
Retrospectives with earlier work are also organised to sharpen historical awareness. A number of affiliated artists come from abroad. They were selected for their vision, of course, but also to provide a contrast with work by Dutch artists.
