TU Delft Hortus Botanicus is the tropical getaway for young and old!
Enjoy 7,000 special species of plants and trees! You can at TU Delft Hortus Botanicus of Delft University of Technology. At around 2.5 hectares, this is the largest contiguous green space near Delft city centre. Exactly 100 years ago - in 1917 - Gerrit van Iterson established the Cultural Garden for Technical Crops to grow plants for research and education in technological applications of crops from all climate zones.
Today, the garden is still important for scientific research and education. The complex is divided into four gardens: the tree garden, the greenhouse complex, the middle garden and the herb garden.

You can also do all sorts of different activities in the garden. You can take a tropical walk, independently or with a guided tour, and discover all the greenery. There are also treasure hunts for children, workshops to follow and even exhibitions. So there is plenty to do in the Tuin van Delft Botanical Garden! Highly recommended for a visit and only a 15-minute walk from the Markt through the historic Oostpoort.
