Cleaning up the canals is rewarded

Fish the rubbish out of the canal and get your canoe ride for free

In Delft, we ran the sustainability campaign D'Serve for the first time from 18 July to 20 September 2025. During this campaign, you received a reward by making a sustainable choice during your visit to Delft. The action below is currently no longer active, but next year we will be back with new and more actions you can take part in. Until then, there are plenty of opportunities for you to contribute to a more sustainable city with the smallest of actions. Get inspired!

Clean the canals is rewarded

Visitors to Delft and many locals like to move around the city by water. Via the canals, you can sail through the whole city, and thanks to several mooring places you can get something to eat on the way... or fill up your Echt Dellufse Waterflesje water bottle. In fact, the canal is like an extra street.

But... that also means that sometimes the streets get dirty.
Fortunately, you can do something about that yourself. The Delft Brouwhuis participates in D'serve and has a campaign where you can explore Delft's canals in a canoe while making the city a little cleaner.

How does this promotion work?

1. Book a time slot for canoeing via the button below
Up to two people can go per canoe.

2. Show your booking confirmation at the Delfts Brouwhuis (Hippolytusbuurt 43).
They will give you the necessary gear and help you to the canoe.

3. Collect floating rubbish from the canals during your canoe trip
And of course also enjoy beautiful Delft from the water.

4. Turn in the rubbish you collect at the Delft Brew House
Then pay off your canoe ride with waste instead of money!

Before you book your canoe, it is important that you take a moment to read through the conditions and rules of play. That way, together we will make sure that everything is safe, neat and relaxed, for you and for the next user.

In the terms and conditions you will read among other things:

How we handle safety (life jacket required!)
What your responsibilities are
Where you can and cannot moor
How we deal with damage or loss of belongings
