In Delft, one in ten inhabitants has a disability. This number is increasing due to an ageing population. An important part of (fully) participating in society is being able to use shops and restaurants independently. Also by people who, for example, are in a wheelchair, have difficulty walking or are deaf. You can help make Delft even more accessible. Join the SME Accessible Route and make your business barrier-free. This is often possible with very small adjustments.
To create the route, the municipality cooperates with Ongehinderd, an organisation dedicated to making the Netherlands more accessible. Participation is voluntary. Will you participate? Then experts from Ongehinderd will check the accessibility of your business for free. They check, for example, the width and height of doors, turning circles for people in wheelchairs, the tractive force of a door, thresholds and wheelchair-friendly toilets. They do this on the basis of the Dutch Quality Mark for Accessibility. You will also receive a report with practical tips and advice on how to make your business more accessible. This report is also free of charge.
Cost of participation
Participation in the programme costs €50 annually based on 300 m² of public space. Participation increases the visibility of your business. Visitors can find your location via the Ongehinderd app and on the website www.ongehinderd.nl/municipality/118/Delft.

You are not stuck with anything
More than 400,000 people across the country are already using this app and website. More than 15,000 locations are already connected and almost 100 municipalities are already participating. Your participation is automatically renewed after the first year. But you can cancel at any time. So you are not tied to anything.
Join in
The municipality hopes to take a joint step towards a more accessible Delft for all. In Delft, residents with disabilities are helping with the route. They will visit you this summer to discuss your participation in the route. You can register your company or organisation during their visit. You can also register yourself directly with Ongehinderd. You can do so at mkbtoegankelijk@ongehinderd.nl.
