A day in the life of an intern

Wondering what a day of an intern at Delft Marketing looks like? Then you have come to the right place. In this blog I take you through my day.

9.00 – Getting started
My day starts at 9 am with a check of my inbox. Whilst going through my emails, I also update my to-do list straight away. This helps me get an overview of everything that needs doing.

9.30 – Morning meeting
At half past nine, it’s time for the daily kick-off. Together with the team, we discuss the key points for the day and ask questions about ongoing projects. This usually takes half an hour, after which everyone has a clear idea of what needs to be done.

10:00 – Getting started
From 10 to 12, I work on my tasks. These can be anything from updating the UITagenda Delft with new events to creating posts for social media, and much more. The great thing is that the work is so varied that time just flies by.

12:00 – Lunchtime!
Time for a lunch break! It’s important to take a moment to relax in between (and enjoy a tasty sandwich, of course ;)).

12:30 – Getting some fresh air
After lunch, I get back to work. Sometimes I’m busy at my desk, but I often head into town as well. There, I film videos for Delft Marketing’s social media channels, such as TikToks, and later record the voice-overs back at the office. It’s nice to be outdoors now and then and to be able to tap into my creative side! And of course, I don’t forget to have a cup of tea every now and then – a short break works wonders.

16:30 – Wrapping up
At around half past four, I take the time to wrap up my work. I check that everything is ready for the day and tie up any loose ends.

17:30 – Time to go home
And that’s the end of my day. At half past five, I pack up my things and make my way home at a leisurely pace.

My favourite part of this internship is that no two days are the same. It is a nice mix of working together, working independently and being creative. This internship is definitely recommended if you are looking for a nice place within marketing!
