Innovation Gallery garden exhibition officially opened

With the unveiling of the first information board, Mayor Marja van Bijsterveldt, Rector Magnificus Tim van der Hagen of TU Delft and Chris Oomen, owner of the Huis van Delft, officially opened a special exhibition on Delft’s innovations in the garden of the new Huis van Delft next to the station on Tuesday 18 February.

The exhibition follows on from the well-attended sound and light show that took place at the same location earlier this year, and serves as a prelude to the forthcoming opening of the Innovation Gallery in the Huis van Delft.

A preview of the Innovation Gallery
The garden exhibition is an open-air display in which seven leading Delft-based organisations showcase their expertise in the fields of water, biotechnology, health and craftsmanship. Just like the previous light and sound show, it offers a preview of the Innovation Gallery, which is due to open soon at the Huis van Delft.

Delft innovations on display in the city
The Garden Expo Innovation Gallery literally brings innovation out into the open. Thanks to a unique collaboration between Deltares, dsm-firmenich, the Delfland Water Board, IHE Delft Institute for Water, Royal Delft, TNO, TU Delft, Huis van Delft and Delft Marketing, 13 high-profile Delft innovations are being exhibited in an accessible way.
The project makes it possible to admire the latest technological and scientific developments 24/7. The Tuinexpo Innovation Gallery is illuminated every evening and will remain on display until Easter Monday, 21 April.

The exhibition serves as a prelude to the Innovation Gallery, where groundbreaking Delft innovations will be showcased in temporary exhibitions at the Huis van Delft. The opening of the Innovation Gallery is scheduled for once construction work has been completed, likely between autumn 2025 and spring 2026.
