These are the stories of people who had no place in the history books; they were told, but their own voices were suppressed. During the walk, you will be taken past locations linked to Delft's colonial and slavery past. A guide not only tells about what was there, but also asks questions about what this past means for today.

Traces of Slavery is no ordinary city walk, but an invitation to dialogue, reflection and connection. A walk that will permanently change your view of Delft and its history. You walk down Oude Delft and see elements you have never noticed, or never stopped to think about the story that goes with it. During this walk, you will pause to reflect on Delft's impressive past.
Museum Prinsenhof Delft
Museum Prinsenhof Delft is temporarily closed due to a major renovation, so the museum is offering a modified cultural programme called 'Museum Prinsenhof Delft Outwards'. With the addition of 'Traces of Slavery', the difficult chapters of local history are also recounted. This has been done in close cooperation with the Old and Nieuwe Kerk. You are invited to see the city through a different lens. You walk past places that are seemingly familiar, but where there are hidden stories about slavery and colonialism that have been hushed up for centuries.
