Admire the ceramic map of Delft
In the Papenstraat hangs a special work of art that is not easily overlooked. On a wall where there used to be nothing, you now see a colourful ceramic map of Delft as the city looked in the 17th century. The mosaic consists of hundreds of ceramic pieces and shows in detail the canals, houses and surrounding countryside.
The map grew out of a fascination with old city maps. What started as an idea grew into a lasting tribute to the city and its rich ceramic tradition.
