Hello, my name is Roel Funcken and I am director-director of the Delft Fringe Festival, the festival where you discover the talent of the future at the most special and diverse places in Delft. Or maybe you know the festival from the big pink rabbit that appears on the Markt every year?
It has now been more than ten years since I first came to Delft, and by now I know Delft better than the city I live in (which, incidentally, is also a very beautiful city in South Holland). Besides my work for the Delft Fringe Festival, I am involved as chairman of Cultuurtafel Delft, an alliance of the arts, culture and events sector, and I am a board member of Stichting Centrum Management Delft. I enjoy giving something back to the city, especially if it makes it a nicer place to live and stay.
Discover the Vakwerkhuis
Meet, meet or work together in the Vakwerkhuis. Here you will find a workplace or meeting location with a homely atmosphere. Did you know that this work and meeting location was once a boiler house? This building is a national monument from 1903, built to supply energy to the TU district.
Now this area has been transformed into the TU Noord international campus. The boiler house still provides the district with energy, but in the form of a cup of coffee!
A good cup of coffee, breakfast, lunch, drinks and everything in between. You'll find all that here too in the former boiler house.
