Next year, and in the years to follow, there is a lot happening in the beautiful city of Delft. With an array of events, festivals, cultural activities and unique themed years, it promises to be a lively and unforgettable period. Discover what Delft has to offer and be inspired by its rich culture and vibrant atmosphere!

Vermeer 350 years

In 2025, it will be exactly 350 years since the famous painter Johannes Vermeer died in his native Delft. In honour of Johannes Vermeer, the city of Delft will organise a range of activities to celebrate his legacy in 2025.

Delft Festival Summer 2025

The Delft Festival Summer is a vibrant period in the city when all kinds of festivals and events take place, such as the Delft Fringe Festival, Delft Chamber Music Festival & the Jazz Festival. It is a period full of fun, diversity and entertainment from June to September.

Delft Illuminated 2025

Delft Illuminated is a heartwarming period with events and other winter activities against the beautifully lit backdrop of Delft's city centre and in the other city districts. It is a period full of conviviality, diversity and entertainment.

Delft Verlicht starts on 9 December 2025 with the 28th Lichtjesavond Delft as the traditional start of the Christmas season in the region.

Musical William of Orange 2025

The long-awaited musical 'William of Orange' is finally going ahead. William of Orange is inextricably linked with the City of Princes; it is the place where he came to live in 1572 and was murdered 12 years later by Balthasar Gerards. After his death, he was interred in Delft's Nieuwe Kerk, where his tomb can still be visited. The musical will tell the story of the life of the 'father of the fatherland' and what he meant to the Netherlands.

The musical is expected to premiere in the last quarter of 2025.
