Kunstwerk Halsteeg - Streetart route
On the electricity house and the seven doors and panels of Halsteeg, words of self-designed letters can be seen.
At the initiative of 38CC, the municipality of Delft and neighbours design agency Zoetmulder commissioned artist Job Wouters to give the alley a facelift. Job Wouters chose text, to refer to the Meinema printing company that was in the 38CC building for decades. Inspired by archive texts about the alley's users of yesteryear, Wouters has written Middle Dutch taunts in the alley. For example, you can read the word 'Pompeye', the name of William of Orange's dog. There is a good chance that it walked there, since this alley was close to William of Orange's former home. The word 'Avondspronck' can also be read, meaning something along the lines of, dancing in the streets late at night.
