Picking up litter in Delft will be rewarded!
Help keep the city centre clean and enjoy a treat
In Delft, we ran the sustainability campaign D'Serve for the first time from 18 July to 20 September 2025. During this campaign, you received a reward by making a sustainable choice during your visit to Delft. The action below is currently no longer active, but next year we will be back with new and more actions you can take part in. Until then, there are plenty of opportunities for you to contribute to a more sustainable city with the smallest of actions. Get inspired!
Rubbish picking in the city centre is rewarded
Do you like a beautiful Delft? So do we! By working together to reduce litter, our city remains a nice place for everyone. Will you help clean up? Then a tasty surprise awaits you at GAIA.
Want to help? Sign up at GAIA and indicate that you would like to make the city a bit cleaner. You will be given equipment to pick up litter and go on a tour of the city centre. After your tour, you will hand everything back, including your loot, and as a thank-you, you will receive a coupon for a well-earned pie or delicious corn ribs with your drink on GAIA's terrace.
How does this promotion work?
1. Report to Hotel de Plataan (Doelenplein 11) that you want to pick up litter in Delft city centre.
You can collect the materials from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 17:00.
2. Go out in the city centre and pick up the litter you find
Perfect to combine with a walk through the beautiful city centre.
3. Hand in the material and rubbish at Hotel de Plataan
After a tour of the city centre, hand in all materials and loot at GAIA.
3. Receive a coupon for a tasty snack with your drink
Receive a coupon for a tart or snack to go with your drink on the terrace or in GAIA 's restaurant (Doelenplein 11).
Help keep the city even cleaner
Delft is beautiful, and we want to keep it that way! With small, conscious choices you can contribute to a cleaner city, less waste and healthy canals. Think about picking up your own rubbish, using a reusable water bottle or taking part in a clean-up action. Everything helps. Whether you visit for a day or a weekend, your behaviour makes a difference. Together, we ensure that Delft remains liveable, beautiful and sustainable.
